The world of online Fantasy Football is growing more and more fun with more places to play, more features, and more supporting data than ever! I have experienced a new zest in the season playing fantasy football. Not only do I follow my home team, but other games matter to me (are exciting) as well. And, I know the players and teams better than ever before. PLAYING FANTASY FOOTBALL FOR THE FIRST TIME Thinking of trying Fantasy Football? Want in on the fun and action? Well, the good news is: you've got more places to play for free than ever before - and they even offer decent features. The user interfaces are good, the views are functional, and all the math and figuring is done for you. The down side is that FF has grown so popular and so big that just figuring out how to play can be overwhelming. Most FF sites and magazines assume that you already know how to play, and their "How to Play" pages list the differences or specialties of their system or leagues. In summary, they are very little help for the beginner. I remember my first season playing. I jumped in with two teams on free sites, really just to learn and compare the site features. It took several days of working on it to figure out my way around, what to do first, what matters most, and what I would be doing each week. Luckily, I'm the kind of guy that likes figuring stuff out, and I stuck with it. Though the game interfaces are smoother today than when I started, the options and data available to the player can be overwhelming to the beginner. WE'LL TAKE IT STEP BY STEP A little data mountain is no reason for you to miss out on the fun that is Fantasy Football! This blog will run the entire 2007 season, showing you what to do when and why, and introducing you to the game in an easy, step-by-step manner. You'll have a blast getting up and playing fast, while still having time to explore and learn the deeper features. A NOTE ON THE GREENBACKS One thing I'll tell you at the outset: this blog isn't designed, intended or implying that it will, should or could make beginners win money at FF this season. This blog isn't about teaching you how to win money at FF. In fact, if this is your first season, do not play money-stakes fantasy football leagues - you will lose. You can experience the same features and fun on free sites, and you'll gain mountains of know-how and strategy by going through a season learning. ASO LET'S PLAY FANTASY FOOTBALL! Yeeeee-ha, getting started is easy. Just follow the blog posts in chronological order. There will be three kinds of posts on the site: - TACTICAL - The basic how-to for setup, play, and weekly actions.
- STRATEGIC - The bigger picture behind playing, building, positioning, trading, and winning.
- INTELLIGENCE - News on players, teams and games that can help your FF team.
So read on and have a great 2007 season!
